Our Mission
Founded in in 1965 in Washington, D.C., by Dr. Schnurrbart Snor, the American Mustache Institute is the world’s leading facial hair advocacy organization. It's leadership, faculty and members are committed to battling a long-standing global pattern of discriminatory behaviors against peoples of facial hair—both the workplace in society-at-large—while working to put programs and measures in place centered upon promoting of the broader dynamism of the Mustached American lifestyle.
Our Programs
We offer a range of curriculum-based programs and initiatives, centered around social sciences and civil liberties, aimed at supporting the growth and development of people of facial hair and our partners. Our programs include mentorship, training, and access to resources. We also organize events and conferences to facilitate thought leadership, anti-defamation networking and knowledge-sharing among members, staff and faculty.
Our Partnerships
We collaborate with a range of organizations and stakeholders to advance the interests of the Mustached American community and global peoples of facial hair in an effort to promote lifestyle-expansion and equality.
